Ananda Worldwide

Ananda is a global movement based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, who showed how everyone can realize God in their daily lives as a tangible, loving reality.

Founded in 1969 by Yogananda’s direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda, who passed away in 2013, Ananda’s primary goal is to help people achieve Self realization. To assist in attaining this goal, Ananda has created communities and centers welcoming all sincere seekers, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability. We are committed to providing an inclusive and openhearted environment for everyone to pursue their search for God.

Swami Kriyananda’s spiritual successor, Nayaswami Jyotish who, along with his wife Nayaswami Devi, continues to serve and uphold Kriyananda’s ideal that Ananda exists to help people grow spiritually. Whether you are seeking more peace in your life, or a deeper connection with God, Ananda offers support and friendship for your spiritual journey. The emphasis is on the individual quest for Self-realization, the unifying reality behind all spiritual traditions. The basis of this teaching is universal. It is a state of mind: the consciousness of inner joy. It is a growing awareness of the presence of God, touching every aspect of our lives.

The teachings at Ananda encompass both Western and Eastern spiritual traditions, particularly the ancient, scientific practice of Raja Yoga from India and the original, mystical teachings of Christ, brought to America in the early 1920s by Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi.

Expand your sense of harmony and gain an increased sense of God’s active presence in your life through these ancient and effective techniques including meditation, Kriya Yoga, spiritually oriented Hatha Yoga, community, and divine friendship.

We invite you to join us at our Ananda Meditation and Yoga Center to experience the joy of your own being.
