Friday, May 17 through Friday, June 28
6 – 7 pm Responsible Giving
led by Rev. Michael Gadway
Beginning May 17 (Friday) and each Friday for 7 weeks, Rev. Michael Gadway will present an hour long class at 6pm on the first Pada of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
This unique class will present the first 55 axioms of Patanjali’s classic dissertation on Yoga. We will review each sutra using the old format of the ancient Gurus.
We will explore the early techniques of Shruti: the oral tradition of concentration and contemplation. We will analyze the literal meaning, as well as the grammar and structure of each sutra (how they were written, flow, and rhythm etc…).
The student will learn to chant each sutra in Sanskrit and contemplate their meaning, coming to their own realizations.
This course is an intensive-interactive class for those who want to dive deep into the philosophy and practical application of the Yoga.
