Story telling can be a wonderfully effective way to connect with friends young and old. If the story telling adult learns to connect first with his own inner resources of heart energy, wisdom, boundless fantasy and imagination, opportunities arise for sharing deep truths and the joy that those truths may bring.

Which teacher does not enjoy the magic moment when, after the more traditional subjects have been studied, the moment arrives to sit in a circle and listen to some thrilling story from a book or, more rarely, to one that springs from the teacher’s own inner source of fantasy?

And which parent does not look forward to that most intimate event of the day: bedtime stories?

During these special moments children and adults together explore inner worlds of fantasy that may contain the power to mold character, to learn deep lessons about courage, perseverance, compassion and to bolster the pursuit of wisdom. Good, inspiring stories plant seeds of happiness in heart and mind that may sprout at appropriate times later in life. This may happen in the form of remembrance or, on a more subconscious level, the truth contained in the story may take the form of an insight or power in facing one of life’s innumerable challenges.

During this course we will concentrate mainly on stories for children between the ages of 4 and 10. You will learn to use meditation to tap into hidden resources of fantasy and come up with stories that are attuned to your children’s emotional, mental and spiritual needs.

You will learn to move and to discover overtones and subtle vibrations in your voice as you speak. You will learn to improvise and to write: the end product of the course will be a little booklet with stories and poems for children.

Activities include:
-meditation and visualization
-basic theory of Education for Life related to story telling
-story telling during walks in Nature
-developing listening skills: telling the stories your course mates have told you
-exercises to develop the voice
-using scripture as a source of inspiration

Course material: pen and paper, laptop, your favorite children’s book
