The Festival of Light was written by Swami Kriyananda, and is performed at every Ananda Sunday Service. Why do we repeat this ritual every week and how can we use the festival to understand the spiritual path more deeply?
Written in mystical poetry and celebrated with music, the ceremony depicts the soul’s journey from the time of its creation, through the stages of development, to its final union with God. As it says in the festival, “The essence of this ceremony has been passed down from ancient times.”
Nayaswami Pranaba will be guiding us as we tune into the deeper meaning of the words and the songs and purpose of the Festival of Light. Universal and mystical, as well as very practical and applicable to our daily journey, the festival is a rich resource of spiritual truth and guidance given to us from Swami Kriyananda and Paramhansa Yogananda.
